Dan Raralio

sculptor . painter . designer

“From his student days at the University of the Philippines, College of Fine Arts, Dan Raralio has shown himself to be a multifaceted artist with a universal appeal. He is in turn witty, comic, serious or all these together. He is also both sculptor and painter. His artistic style is enriched by many sources: classical, cubist, surrealist, formalist, postmodern. Though these are mainly Western sources, an oriental strain comes in with some origami constructions and Zen-derived minimalism. His works combine the cerebral and the emotional, but always in an unceasing pursuit of beauty, whether in classical forms or in postmodern articulations — sculptures posing riddles to the mind in endless hours of fascination.”
